Team Tyrrell is back and racing again in 2026
Team Tyrrell confirms its return to the circuit, racing again for the first time since 1998.
Founded on an approach that challenged convention and engineered the improbable, Tyrrell’s record includes 33 Grand Prix victories (including as Matra International) and 463 Formula 1 race starts between 1968 and 1998. Tyrrell’s most celebrated era was shaped by Sir Jackie Stewart’s Drivers’ World Championships in 1969, 1971 and 1973, achieved with Ken Tyrrell’s team and its cars including the Tyrrell 003 and 006.
Hugo Ripert acquired Tyrrell from Bob Tyrrell in 2023, with a return to competition a cornerstone of the acquisition. Since then, Ripert and his team have sourced and prepared one of Tyrrell’s most successful cars in historic racing, establishing the foundation for an on-track programme that will grow through 2026.
