Race Against Dementia
Inspired by Formula 1, Race Against Dementia brings urgency, innovation, and collaboration to dementia research to find preventions and cures, faster.
Unless something changes, one in three people born today will die with dementia.
Dementia is one of the greatest health challenges of our time. More than 55 million people around the world are living with this devastating condition, and this figure is predicted to increase to 152 million by 2050. Dementia robs individuals of their memories, independence and identity - and places a huge emotional and financial burden on families.
Race Against Dementia funds and supports early-career scientists around the world, giving them the tools, mentoring and Formula-1 inspired mindset to accelerate breakthroughs. From the UK to the USA, Australia to South Africa, their researchers are rethinking how dementia research is done - applying data science, AI and engineering to neuroscience in bold, collaborative ways.
As a charity supported by Formula 1, they harness the sport's global platform to raise awareness and fuel progress. By uniting the brightest minds from science, engineering and motorsport, Race Against Dementia is building a global team tackling dementia from new angles.
